Flat Head Socket Cap Screws
What is a Flat Head Socket Cap Screw?
A flat head socket cap screw is a cap screw with a flat head that has a flat top surface, and a conical bearing surface. The head angle is 82 degrees. Flat socket cap screws are most commonly made with allen drives, but they are also made with spline drives or allen drives with a post when security is an issue.
Because of the conical shape of the bearing surface, flat head cap screws require a countersunk hole for proper installation.
The allen drive allows the screw to be installed with an allen wrench.
